If you’d like your teen to experience what an alternative to mainstream high school is like, check out Abot Tala at the 2nd Floor of Commune Café, Poblacion, Makati. Classes run Mondays to Thursdays from 9am to 3pm. Teens are free to choose any number of classes plus they are matched with a mentor whom they have one-on-one advisory sessions once a week. This is what school could look like if we could redefine and redesign it.
The program runs this April and May at Commune. The fee for one month is P12,000. If you only want to try the program one week at a time, the fee is P4,000 per week. If you want to try one day or two days a week, the fee is P1,100 per day.
What it includes: you can attend all the classes that interest you, meet with a mentor once a week, use the space for socializing and study.

From June onward, we’ll be continuing the Abot Tala program at Tres Palmas, Taguig so these months of April and May are a good time to try if this learning model is a good fit for your family.
